I'm here this week with my wife Gena to complete a Coaching Certification Course for church planters. The course is hosted by Church Coaching Solutions, a Christian Church based ministry led by Bobby Harrington. CCS does the planter training for Stadia: New Church Strategies. CCS is a contracted provider for church planter coach training with Bob Logan's CoachNet. Bob was our primary trainer. The course began with a 2 day introduction to planter coaching in February. We worked through the material presented in Bob's book Coaching 101 and the Coching 101 Handbook. From February to July all of us coaches were both coached and did hands-on coaching with at least 2 cochees. That was a great experience to be receiving direction and personal coaching while providing the same for these church planters.While in Nashville we also had the opportunity to visit with the Hillsboro, Woodmont Hills and Otter Creek Churches of Christ. It is always a joy to see the activities of fellow Christians. And just an FYI, Elvis still lives! (at least the show we went to was very good). This ministry seeks to recruit, equip, and support church multiplication leaders to plant churches across North America. This ministry began in 2005 under the sponsorship of the Southwest church of Christ in Jonesboro, AR. It was born out of the leadership of Stan Granberg who is the executive director of this ministry. The ministry began in the Portland, OR area but has already added a regional office in the Los Angeles area.
